Early Learner’s Program – Children Aged 1.8 to 2.6 years
The toddler program at Clamshell Mont focuses on empowering children to thrive independently. Our aim is to create a nurturing environment that encourages them to explore the world around them. Toddlers thrive in the lovingly prepared environment, which accommodates their intrinsic need to explore and encourages them to experience the world in a way that helps them to become an enthusiastic learner. Children are gently introduced to the rules of the community and find pleasure in being patient, respectful, and polite.
Our Montessori trained adults aim at creating peaceful, supportive, and safe environments for your toddlers flourishing their natural passion for wonder, curiosity, exploration, and discovery. A small group structure enables our staff to observe and work with children closely.
Our key focus areas are:
-
Social and emotional growth
-
Self-help skills
-
Sensory and perceptual development
-
Physical and gross motor skills
-
Language skills
Montessori Program – Children Aged 2.6 to 6 years
The prepared Montessori environment provide children an opportunity to educate themselves. Children are free to respond to their natural tendency to work. Dr. Montessori discovered that children, under the age of 6, have an ability to absorb knowledge, like a sponge, from their surroundings, just by being in it. Our fundamental task for children of this age group is to let them explore their surroundings by moving, choosing and concentrating independently. Our program looks to channelize their curiosity, sense of order and ability to follow a routine.
The prepared environment comprises the following learning areas:
-
Exercises of Practical Life
-
Sensorial
-
Language
-
Arithmetic
-
Culture – Botany, Zoology, History, Science, Geography, Art and Music
